Description:

The Child Care Center Director is responsible for the overall operation of the Child Care Center, including the management of staff, budget, and curriculum, as well as ensuring that the Center operates according to State Licensing regulations and Center or Agency-specific funding requirements at all times.  He/She will also be responsible for ensuring that the Center achieves and maintains accreditation status and that the Center operates according to accreditation requirements.


Essential Functions:

  • Manage and supervise all employees and volunteers.

  • Interview, hire, and train new employees as needed.

  • Manage the fiscal needs and budget of the Center in accordance with Agency budgetary guidelines and program priorities.

  • Maintain a minimum of 80% enrollment while working to achieve full enrollment.

  • Interview parents for enrollment, establish fees, and arrange new enrollee orientation according to Agency policy.

  • Work with parents to provide a supportive and professional environment at all times.

  • Seek and maintain licensed and accredited status for the Center.

Qualification/Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualification requirements below and be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made if needed.

  • Must have Child Development Associate Credential and be currently enrolled in courses to achieve a Bachelors Degree.

  • At least 5 years of previous experience in the child care field and 1 year previous management experience required.   

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field strongly preferred.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills required.

  •  Basic computer skills required.

  • Ability to meet State, Accreditation, and  Agency requirements for training.
  • Ability to comply with all Agency policies as listed in the Employee Handbook.
  • Must be able to regularly stand/walk.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time in front of a computer screen.

Ability to successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical and TB test required for this position.
