Title:  Inclusion Specialist

Description:

The Inclusion Specialist works to assist early childhood programs, providers, and parents in improving the access, quality, and availability of inclusive environments for families of children with and without special needs.  The Inclusion Specialist is responsible for providing trainings, activities, referrals, etc. in accordance with governing body standards and Agency policy and procedure to teach the best practices in inclusion and to collaborate with providers and families seeking inclusive child care environments.

Essential Functions: 

·          Act as a resource to parents, providers, and early childhood programs in the area of inclusion by communicating best practice, staying abreast of the latest research, legislations, and techniques regarding disabilities and inclusion, and providing referrals to appropriate community resources and other BCC Quality partners.

·          Conduct regular How Are Things (HAT) follow up calls in accordance with governing body standards and Agency policy and procedure for all enhanced referrals and maintain accurate records of all referrals and follow up calls in the NACCRRAware database.

·          Provide trainings and activities in accordance with governing body standards and requirements and Agency policy and procedure for parents, providers, and early childhood programs that promote, support, and strengthen awareness of inclusion, inclusionary practices, adaptation and modification of environments to create inclusive settings, social and emotional development of children and continuity of care.

·          Maintain a comprehensive tracking and evaluation system on all trainings and services provided, including but not limited to distributing and collecting surveys and evaluations for all trainings as necessary, logging all collaborative action plans, and summarizing all visits and trainings offered.

·          Regularly participate in various collaborative community and program efforts including Transition Team and First Steps Council Meetings.

·          Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with a minimum of 12 credit hours of course work related to the study of children with special needs.

·          Minimum 2 years experience working in an inclusive early childhood setting or other early childhood and disability-related setting.

·          Ability to travel between service areas.

·          Valid Indiana driver’s license and access to insured motor vehicle in good operating condition.

·          Demonstration of outstanding customer service skills.

·          Demonstration of exceptional organization skills.

·          Demonstration of high level of written and verbal communication skills.

·          Proficient in basic computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office products, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, database management software, etc.

·          Ability to train and speak in front of others.

·          Ability to relate well to children and adults.

·          Ability to recognize and promote diversity while being sensitive to different social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.

·          Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.

·          Ability to maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records at all times.

·          Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, carry, manipulate a keyboard, and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.

Title:  Education Coordinator

Location:  The Child Care Resource Network

Status: Full Time - Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Description:

To coordinate and provide training opportunities to child care providers in accordance with all contract requirements and standards and based on annual training needs assessment results, in an effort to increase the quality of child care for all ages and abilities of children.  The Education Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of planning, developing, evaluating, and conducting trainings.  He or She is also responsible for supporting and marketing The Child Care Resource Network’s (TCCRN) educational offerings and best practices in child care within the service area communities.

Essential Functions:     

 

·          Perform all development and planning duties associated with the creation and execution of comprehensive training plans that meet the needs and abilities of area providers in accordance with state and national best practice standards, IACCRR Standards of Service Delivery requirements, and Agency policy and procedures, including, but not limited to annually collecting and analyzing assessment of provider training needs and access to and ability to use technology; compiling and disseminating quarterly community training calendars to providers and Early Childhood Meeting Place website; scheduling and booking training locations; and preparing all training materials, utilizing diverse delivery methods and technology, as required.

·          Ensure all record keeping and evaluation duties associated with TCCRN’s educational offerings and provider database are completed according to IACCRR’s Standards of Service Delivery, Agency policy and procedures, and Program requirements, including but not limited to evaluating all provider trainings using an approved evaluation tool and using the results for continuous program improvement; fielding all telephone inquiries regarding available trainings and recording appropriate data in the NACCRAware database; maintaining accurate and up to date records in the NACCRRAware system regarding training attendance and ; compiling all reports and documentation in accordance with IACCRR, Agency, and Program requirements; maintaining Training Menu; and submitting any variances and/or additions to the annual Training Calendar to IACCRR monthly.

·          Conduct, oversee, and/or act as the back up trainer for all trainings and training related requirements and initiatives as necessary or required including but not limited to conducting Orientation Trainings I and II for new providers and performing FOUNDATIONS related trainings and/or imbedding FOUNDATIONS information in all trainings offered; conducting or acting as the back up trainer for Safe Sleep, Paths to QUALITY Introduction and Paths to QUALITY Orientation trainings; maintaining information and resources regarding Child Development Associate credential training, including location, dates of courses, and available advisors; and performing all other training related duties in accordance with state and national best practice standards, IACCRR Standards of Service Delivery, and Agency policy and procedure.

·          Market and promote child care best practices and TCCRN’s educational offerings and services to the community including, but not limited to, attending community events to communicate early childhood as a profession and a business; supporting community child care provider networks; analyzing community needs and provider supply and promoting activities which increase retention among providers; and recognizing and supporting providers achieving higher levels of quality.

·          Supervise all training staff and manage all employee related matters including, but not limited to recruiting, selecting, and training new employees; conducting employee disciplinary proceedings when necessary and in accordance with state and federal laws and Agency standards; maintaining accurate and confidential employee records as required by internal and external requirements; maintaining open, professional communication with employees that fosters mutual respect, support, and collaboration; providing formal and informal feedback regarding employee performance; and approving employee timesheets, expense reports; mileage reports, and other personnel actions.

·          Bachelors Degree is Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Consumer and Family Sciences, Education, or related field, including at least 12 credit hours in early childhood related course work.  Master’s Degree preferred.

·          Minimum 2 years experience working in a regulated child care setting and in a supervisory role.

·          Minimum 1 year experience training adults.

·          Valid Indiana driver’s license and access to an insured motor vehicle in good operating condition.

·          Ability to maintain confidentiality of all client, provider, and staff records at all times and in compliance with local, state, and federal laws, governing body requirements, and Agency policy and procedure.

·          Excellent public speaking and communication skills, with an emphasis on transparent communication.

·          Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·          Outstanding customer service skills.

·          Proficient in computer programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office products, Internet Explorer, database management software, etc.

·          Strong organization skills.

·          Ability to lift 25lbs.
