Sunrise Child Care Center is located in the Lafayette Church of the Brethren at 1107 S. 18th Street. The church opened the center in 1993 as an infant center. Tippecanoe County Child Care assumed operations in 1994 and made renovations to an adjoining room and included toddlers.

Sunrise is currently licensed for 8 infants and 8 toddlers. The focus of this location is to aid teenage parents so that they may finish high school. All sixteen spots are dedicated to providing Early Head Start Services. The partnership with the Early Head Start program began in 1998 and is available at Sunrise only.

Sunrise Highlights:

Childcare available weekdays from 7:30AM to 5:15PM

Growing Up Healthy Program on site. This is a joint venture with Ivy Tech. This program brings Early Childhood Students into classrooms to conduct developmental observations and screenings. This program also brings Nursing students to conduct physical assessments and monitoring of growth, nutrition, infection, and medication as needed.

Staff trained in CPR, First Aid, Universal Precautions, Child Abuse, Positive Classroom Management, Developmentally Appropriate Practice, Curriculum, Health, Nutrition, Sanitation, Safety, and Child Development. Staff are offered continuing education.

  

On site therapy and consultation with Greater Lafayette Special Services (GLASS) and First Steps.
